About This Zone
The Rideau Canal — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's longest surviving canal system — connects Ottawa to Kingston through a chain of lakes and rivers. Beyond its historic locks, the waterway offers excellent fishing for smallmouth bass, walleye, pike, and perch. The Rideau Lakes (Canons, Smiths, Cataraqui) provide sheltered paddling with abundant fish, making this a favourite for families and weekend warriors alike.
